Senator Arlen Specter is outraged. He thinks there should be an independent investigation of the New England Patriots' taping of their NFL opponents.
While I'm no fan of Bill Belichick, I can think of a few other more important things the Pennsylvania senator should be thinking about. Maybe he could call for an investigation of who got us into the disaster in Iraq and why we're still there. Maybe he could call for an investigation of why the help to New Orleans after it drowned was so feeble and so late.
The last time I looked, the NFL was doing better than the government. Or is this just some settling of ancient scores from when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's father was a U.S. senator from New York?
